Reflections

Hello my little pumpkin,

Barack Obama was sworn in this week as the FIRST African-American president of the United States of America. You should be very proud. This is a mark in history that will make ways for you and I. Besides the emphasis on his skin color the bigger question is, will he do the job has he has been promoting for the last two years? We shall wait and see.

In reflection to where we have come from, I want you to know that the sky is the limit. I don't care what obstacle's you may face as a man, you need to make the decisions that will allow you to always rise to your standards. No one else matters. No one else will live in your shoes. Do love yourself. Do know who you are.

Many may look at you with hesitation and wonder if you will be successful? I do not question that at all. I see that you are determined, strong willed, joyous and filled with life. It may not be easy but I will always be here for you. Through tears, laughter and pain, strive for what you believe in and what means the most to you. Don't ever let anyone tell you that you are anything less and that your achievement is only limited to statistics.

Sometimes I wanna say that Mark makes me feel disgusted but he was a reason of how you came into this world. You have made many great changes in my life. I would not be here if it were not for you.

Lastly, listen to your mama! I am a person of many WISE choices. One day, we will talk about this but listen to your mama!

MY LOVE.

Your mother
