Yes, Evan knows both Hmong and English at this point. The important thing is ASK yourself if YOU teach your child Hmong. That is the first question that people ask me when I see or run into them. I was being polite earlier today and kindly responded, "YES! He knows HMONG AND ENGLISH!" And by showing them that Evan is great in both languages, I asked if her about her daughter's vocabulary. She said that her daughter is only using 2 words at this point. OH....is that right? Hum..... Annoyed? Yes. Is it important to know Hmong? Yes. Are we in America? Yes. Do we live in Thailand? NO! Will our kids go to an all Hmong school? Probably not. I really wanted to be rude then I thought about how unopened minded some folks are and didn't say anything. (That's why I'm writing the blog. :D ) I've probably been asked this many of times before but it irks me when it's people I don't even communicate with on a regular basis asks.
